TOM Cruise injured himself in London today when a high-octane stunt went wrong and he crashed into the side of a building while filming Mission Impossible 6.

Video footage shows the mega-star – who always performs his own stunts – take a huge leap off some rigging onto a rooftop opposite while strapped into a harness.

However, the 55-year-old misjudges the jump and slams into the building, leaving him momentarily hanging in the air.

Clearly shocked, Tom pulls himself up onto the rooftop and staggers towards the crew.

After taking a moment to regain his composure, Tom then limps away and holds onto his knee while wincing in pain.

And while the last thing he probably wanted to do is glide through the air between two buildings again, his only way to get treatment is to be pulled back between the buildings to the scaffolding, where members of the team come to his aid.

Tom reprises the role of Ethan Hunt in the latest instalment of the film franchise which also stars Henry Cavill, Simon Pegg, Jeremy Renner and Vanessa Kirby.

Details of the new film’s plot are being kept strictly under wraps.

Tom’s crash comes shortly after the CEO of Skydance Media revealed that he will be performing the “most impressive and unbelievable” stunt of his career.

David Ellison told Collider: “What Tom is doing in this movie I believe will top anything that’s come before. It is absolutely unbelievable—he’s been training for a year.

  1. He broke his ankle according to the initial reports and they may halt the production for four months in order for him to recover. I hope the movie doesn’t get delayed.
